I like school a lot, don't you? The nice folks at Georgia's Own
Credit Union wanted me to teach all of you about developing good
savings
habits. They also wanted me to give you more information about opening
up a Cub Club® account of your very own.
I bet you're asking yourself "What is Cub Club?" -
Cub Club is a program for my friends 12 and under who are related
to
Georgia's Own members. They can open up their very own special savings
account and be on their way towards developing good savings habits.
Guess what you get for opening up a Cub Club Account?
• A Credit Union Coloring and Story Book
• A Cub Club Membership and Savings Record Card
• Special Cub Club Newsletters
• A Bear Puppet - sent to Cub Club members when their account balance reaches
$250 (Only one bear puppet per account)
• And of course, unlimited access to Cyber Willie's Clubhouse, the most
fun and
exciting site on the web
Now, I know what you're thinking, "How do I join?" -
Simply have an adult family member sponsor you by bringing you
by one of our branch offices
or have them call Georgia's Own Member Services Office at (404) 874-0777
and they will have you fill out a new account card. That and a
minimum deposit of
$25 will get you started.
Some Common Credit Union Definitions
• Credit Union - A financial institution that serves a select membership's
financial needs.
• Dividend - A cash reward that a Credit Union gives each member with at
least $25 in their savings account.
• Statement - A document that tells you how much money you have in your
account and what transactions took place to your account. As a Cub Club member,
you'll
get one of these every three months.
• Willie Bear - That's ME!!!!! I'm the mascot of Georgia's Own Cub Club
and the Webmaster of Cyber Willie's Clubhouse.
A lot of my new friends always ask, "What happens when I turn 13?" -
Congratulations!!!! You graduate to Georgia's Own Club T program. You'll
need to fill out a new membership card but you'll get all sorts of new and
exciting
membership benefits. Contact your Credit Union representative for additional
inforamtion.
